As you all know, we have a Wish Kid in the family now. He has been marking off his calendar with great joy and excitement each evening (or afternoon, if he cannot contain himself), and we are now 17 days away from an exciting adventure in Manhattan. The Make-a-Wish Foundation has spent decades giving hope to children who have little to no hope themselves, and when wishes are granted, lives are changed. Today is World Wish Day, and that means that there are plenty of ways to help kids like mine get all of their dreams fulfilled at a time in their life when dreams can seem very far away indeed.
Toys R Us is going to donate $1 (up to $25K) for every person who retweets this tweet:

Boom. How easy was that? You just gave a dollar to Make-a-Wish!
Maggiano’s will also donate $5 (up to $25K) for every photo posted on either twitter or instagram with the hashtag #EatADish4MAW. Yeah, FIVE dollars! And it doesn’t matter what the picture is! Just use the hashtag! In fact, if you are nervous and don’t know what to tweet, I will let you use this picture, drawn of Edward destroying a restaurant. So it is food and Wish Kid related! No guilt for you! Here’s the picture:

So now you have donated $6 to Make-a-Wish and you have’t even opened your wallet! And maybe $11 if you posted that photo on both twitter and instagram (not sure how they are counting this).
CheapCaribbean.com is also donating $1 (up to $10K) for a retweet of this tweet:

So you have now donated perhaps $12 to Make-a-Wish today, without spending any money! But if you do feel like spending a little of your own money, I should tell you that Star Wars: Force For Change is raising money for Make-a-Wish and Disney/Lucasfilm is going to match the donations up to $1M. Yeah, a million dollars. So if you want to donate and have it count for double, head on over here:

and give to the organization that keeps on giving.
Also, if you are one of those people with more time than money, you may be more interested in volunteering and helping make the wishes come true. Find your local chapter and check them out! They are always looking for people to help out and join the family. So happy World Wish Day everyone. Be generous and enjoy your Friday. I have to go make sure Edward has not crossed any extra days off of his calendar.
