Sleep Deprivation

I am posting this kind of late today.  This because me am so tired.  Stupid baby not sleep at night.  Make Tenor Dad cry and gnash teeth.  And this is the third night in a row.

Saturday night, Edward decided to get up around 3 am, and then basically just stay up for the rest of the night.  My wife and I took turns dealing with him.  I had to sing a Messiah service at 9:45 in the morning.  I wanted to die.  Or at least I thought I did.

I didn’t know how tired I could really be until he did it for the second night.  Sunday night he got up at 2:30 and went to sleep again at around 6:30.  Just in time for my wife to get up for work.  He is lucky that Tenor Dad not smash.  Tenor Dad want smash.

I was so tired yesterday, but I got through it somehow.  Actually, most of it is a blur.  I think I got through it.  The only thing I was looking forward too all day was sleep.  Sweet, sweet sleep.

Last night, Edward got up at 1:30, and I finally got him to go to sleep at 7 am.  My wife has a proposal due this week, so while she did take a shift, it was mostly me up all night.  I probably slept for 2 hours.  I don’t know what to do with this kid.  We finally solved the problem of him not going to bed on time, but now it has morphed into a new, even worse problem.

Me not know what do anymore.  More crying probably.  Maybe call pediatrician.  Try be coherent.  Probably fail being coherent.  Also, nap.

Except…if boy have nap, boy no sleep at night.  So no can have nap.  Maybe big cage…….

Probably just more crying.

And teeth gnashing.

And crying.

  1. Try benadryl. that is what our pediatrician recommended. It didn’t work for my boys, but they say it won’t work on kids with ADHD, guess that explains it. Benjamin just started taking melatonin and now he falls asleep within 45 minutes and stays asleep, or at least goes right back to sleep if he wakes up. Course he goes back to sleep in my bed, but daddy kicks him out after about half an hour and he stays asleep the rest of the night.
