Two Year Old Changing a Tire

It’s wintery time again, which means that, for those of us living in the frozen north, it’s time to switch to the winter tires again.  Switching the tires on your car is not an easy or fun chore, but isn’t that why we have children?  Traditionally children were produced to work in your field and/or to trade for livestock, but since I do not have any fields, and the only livestock I have consists of two annoying cats, I have to use my children for other purposes.  Like changing over my tires!

The first step is for them to get the old tires off of the car.  This is easy for them, because they are two and their whole lives are devoted to breaking things off of other things, and generally ruining what is good and put together.

Once the old tire is off, you should get the hub caps and switch those as well.  Unless you are part of the 1% and can afford two entirely separate sets of hub caps.  But most of us don’t live that way.

Now you need to get the new tire.

Simply stick it on, screw it back together, and voila!  You have your winter tires on.  Now, you may need to help your toddler with the putting the tires back on part, since they are not quite as good at fixing things as they are at breaking them, but with a little bit of practice, you will soon be relaxing in the house while your kids do all of your work for you!  At least I hope that eventually happens.  I need something to look forward to.

  1. It seems that your kid has a penchant for changing flat tires! Well, I think we know whom he took after. He looks very skilled and enthusiastic in handling the tools and the tires. A few more years, and he will surely get this thing done in a matter of seconds. Just wait and see!

  2. Hahaha! This made my day! I haven’t seen a cute little boy change a tire, man! Your son must really be something. LOL 😀 How did his mom react after this? She must really be proud to have a good child like him. Well, let’s just see what he can do more in the future! 😉

  3. I love the last photo because your son looks determined in replacing your old tire. He is such a cute and responsible little boy! :’) Your child will surely learn the proper way of changing tires, which could be a great bonding moment for you in the years to come.
